Baby G again…back on our home course on a very cold Saturday morning. Paul was missing this morning so just me, Stu and Matt. The wind coming off the sea was below zero and bitter making it very hard to warm up and swing a club.
We all started extremely well on the 1st hole scoring ZERO points between us. Onto the 2nd I surprised myself with scoring a par which got me on the scoring train and Matt carded a 6 and Stu a 5. At least we were all off the mark after the slow start!
Matt bumped his tally up with a birdie on the first Par 5 and Stu who is now scoring for fun off his current handicap was getting the ball in the hole with very few strikes of the ball! After the front 9 Stu was on 21, me on 16 and Matt on 14.
I started with a par on the first hole (a Par 4) on the back nine which gave me some belief I may not be reviewing this week. The 11th hole a Par 3 saw myself and Matt carding a par but Stu a 4 but he still gets a shot so we didn’t gain anything on this hole. Myself and Matt carded another Par on Stroke Index 1 (Hole 12) but Stuart was still scoring.
We all carded some pars on the way in and all made some lovely approach shots, but realistically Stu was scoring too so couldn’t catch him. Stu finished on a par and finally carded 37 points. Myself and Matt both got 35 but I lost on countback again!..soon to be my middle name…
Stu is really improving and will hopefully be cut by the start of the Spring. His lessons are paying dividends and it’s great to see his game improving, he’s worked very hard to improve his game! Well done mate…
